Educational assessment systems across Africa play an important role in tracking progress on key government objectives. Yet many countries struggle to balance international standards with local realities and limited resources. External support often doesn't fit local needs. Over-reliance on outside expertise prevents countries from building their own sustainable capacity. AFLEARN conducted this study to better understand these challenges. We spoke with national assessment teams, regional program representatives, and international experts to identify practical solutions. The reports below offer clear recommendations for technical assistance that work in various contexts.
