AHEAD version 2 is available
AHEAD Version 2 is out.
AHEAD, the African Harmonised Early-Grade Assessment Data, pools EGRA and EGMA surveys from USAID-funded projects across Africa. Common variable names and structure let researchers compare early reading and mathematics results across countries, projects, and years.
Version 2 contains:
- 217,127 pupil records, up from 134,868, from 15 countries and 24 projects. Somalia joins for the first time.
- 50 project-rounds, up from 30, with new studies in South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania, and Egypt.
- 2,880 variables, 771 of them new, including second-language reading, rapid naming, and working memory.
Corrected values for 11,035 existing records, and every percent variable now runs from 0 to 100.
