Asenze Study: a longitudinal, population-based cohort study of children and their caregivers in KwaZulu-Natal
The Asenze Study is an ongoing survey conducted in a peri-urban area outside Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The survey was of eligible caregivers with children aged 4-6 years, and focused on child neurodevelopment, cognitive function, behavioural problems, and the physical and mental health (including HIV status) of both children and their caregivers. Data from Asenze Waves 1 and 2, covering 2008-2012, are now available from our data site.

African Cigarette Prices 2016-2024
Cigarette price data is generally collected by African governments but not made publicly available for research The data for this study was collected by the Research Unit on the Economics of Excisable Products (REEP) at the University of Cape Town. The project recorded prices of cigarettes sold at retail outlets and from street vendors in African countries, including: Botswana, Cameroon, Chad, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The updated ACP 2016-2024 is now published on our data site.
