Dr Amy Thornton

Dr Amy Thornton is a Senior Researcher with DataFirst.  She works on the quality of the household survey data produced by Statistics South Africa and topics related to households, labour markets and gender.  Prior to DataFirst, Amy was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Southern African Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU).  She graduated from the University of Cape Town with her Ph.D in Economics in 2021.
