In Memory of Zenzele Pahla “Zenzi”

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Zenzi Pahla, a Master's student in Economics, passed away after a brief illness. Zenzi also served as a Data Analyst at DataFirst from 2020 to 2025 and was a valued member of the data service team. She was known for her lively nature and keen intelligence. She was due to graduate this year.

In typical Zenzi fashion, she did not want to be remembered for her achievements, but rather for her values: her love for mankind, her passion for promoting women in economics, and her integrity and hardworking nature.

Zenzi is survived by her mother, Mwansa Pahla; and her sister, Dr Sarai Pahla. 

Her passing is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of working with her.  

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Zenzi’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
