DHS Program

The Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) Program collects and disseminates nationally representative data on fertility, family planning, maternal and child health, gender, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and nutrition in various countries. Funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the DHS Program also provides technical assistance for health and population survey data collection around the world. Researchers can register their projects with the program to obtain access to African DHS data.
