    Abstract

The dataset provides the necessary crosswalks and conversion measures to apply Occupational Information Network (O*NET) green occupation data to South African labour market data. Several steps are detailed in the dataset, as the occupation classification systems are not the same, and the data needs to be converted from the 6-digit to the 4-digit level. The dataset was developed as part of a SALDRU working paper, An Analytical Framework to Assess Green Transition Jobs in South Africa, and is best understood alongside this paper, where the methodology is explained in detail. The working paper is available at https://www.opensaldru.uct.ac.za/handle/11090/1044

    Notes

The data file contains the following:
One sheet per ONET green occupation category containing the crosswalk and conversion from the ONET occupation codes to the South African Standard Classification of Occupation (SASCO) codes.
Calculation_overall green share: This sheet provides the crosswalk and conversion for the ONET green occupations across all three categories. There is some overlap between the categories at the SASCO level, which made it necessary to calculate all three lists together to ensure double counting was avoided.
Final tables: this sheet provides all O
NET green occupation measures, which can be understood as the proportion of O*NET green occupations found.
