Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit

SALDRU is a research unit within the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town. Since 1975 the unit has been involved in research and capacity building in applied empirical microeconomics, with an emphasis on poverty and inequality, labour markets, human capital and social policy. SALDRU has conducted several surveys in South Africa, and is responsible for the National Income Dynamics Study, South Africa's only household panel survey.
