Transnet SOC Limited, a division of Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA), has appointed contractors Sunwater East London Joint Venture (Pty) Ltd (Sunwater) for the construction of a two(2) megalitre per day (MLD) solar-powered Reverse Osmosis (RO) desalination plant within the Port of East London, Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, East London (Figure A). Anchor Environmental Consultants (Pty) Ltd (Anchor) has been subcontracted to conduct the EIA prior to the construction and operation of the plant.
