It is an important tool in the welfare monitoring system and has provided a wealth of information for understanding living conditions in Ghana.

    Notes

    The scope of the Ghana Living Standards Survey includes:
    Individuals: Demographic characteristics like education, health, economic activty, migration and tourism of individuals in the household
    Households: Housing characteristics, agricultural inputs, crop production, expenditure on food items consumed, assets, remmitances, savings and loans
    Community: Demographic characteristics of rural communities, economy and infrastructure, education, health and agriculture
