Abstract
Cenfri is an independent think tank based in Cape Town, South Africa, that supports financial inclusion and financial sector development through facilitating better regulation and market provision of financial services. CENFRI conducts research and develops capacity building programmes for regulators, donors, financial service providers and other parties operating in the low-income market. Making Access Possible (MAP) is a multi-country initiative by CENFRI to support financial inclusion through a process of evidence-based country diagnostics and stakeholder dialogue. The MAP methodology was developed by CENFRI jointly with the FinMark Trust and UNCDF. MAP DRC was released under the guidance of the MAP Coordinating Committee. This Committee is chaired by the DRC Ministry of Finance, and includes representatives from the DRC Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, the National Statistics Agency, and selected financial service providers, industry associations, development agencies and donors.
